Binhua Wang Associate Professor Binhua Wang is Director of the MA in Conference Interpreting and Translation at the University of Leeds. Previously he was a Research Assistant Professor (teaching the MA in Conference Interpreting) at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and an Associate Professor at the School of Interpreting and Translation Studies at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in China. Since 1998, he has also worked as a part-time conference interpreter at international conferences and for high-level government delegations from China. A Fellow of the Translators Association of China and Vice Chair of the World Interpreter and Translator Training Association's Academic Committee, Dr Wang has an MA in English Language and Literature, a PhD in Interpreting and Translation Studies from Guangdong University, and completed his post-doctoral research at the University of Leeds. He then worked as an interpreter for the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe in a freelance capacity until the end of 2014. His career began as a Lecturer in Russian Literature and Language at UCL's School of Slavonic and East European Studies and later as a freelance interpreter working mainly for international organisations. A member of the International Association of Conference interpreters (AIIC) since 1995, Dr Budgen has an MA in Russian from Merton College, Oxford, a PhD in Russian Literature from Wolfson College/ St John's College, Cambridge, and a Diploma in Conference Interpreting. His books include The NATO- Russian Council Glossary of Cooperation.
