He is also an Open University language tutor, a marker of English language papers for the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority, and a setter and moderator for the English language papers of the Hong Kong Territory-wide System Assessment. Dr Lee has been a CIOL member since 2004 and Chair of the Hong Kong Society since 2009, having joined its Executive Committee the previous year. He is actively engaged in promoting the Institute and professional language activities in Hong Kong and mainland China, and is an interviewer for the Chartered Linguist scheme in Hong Kong. A Doctor of Education, Dr Lee has an MA in Applied Linguistics and previously taught English and Mandarin at Lung Cheung Government Secondary School in Hong Kong (1989- 2006). He was then Head of Clementi Secondary School for a year before joining the Education Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government as the Inspector of Schools.
